GABORONE - The national broadcaster, Botswana Television (Btv) is doing all it can to enable Batswana to watch the African Cup of Nations (AFCON) finals.

The continental soccer showpiece takes place in Accra, Ghana, from January 20 to February 10.

Mrs Neoyame Setsile-Shirima, public relations officer of the Department of Broadcasting Services, said they are negotiating with sponsors and rights owners so that they can show the tournament on Btv.

We are very optimistic that we will succeed. Our aim is to show AFCON as Batswana depend on us to bring them shows of interest and this is one of them.

She stated that they intend to show all the 32 games live, which will force them to change their line up and shuffle their programmes to accommodate the games. BOPA
